Lisa’s journey to recovery is nothing short of inspirational. From battling substance use disorder to overcoming the aftermath of a devastating accident, Lisa’s resilience has been the driving force behind her transformative path. Starting with a humble job, Lisa worked her way through the challenges, embracing the fast-paced environment at a distribution center.  Due to seasonal layoffs, Lisa sought Jubilee Jobs’ help again, landing her the perfect job at small aromatherapy distribution facility where her ability to multi-task and navigate through tough decision-making allowed her to stand out amongst the small staff which led to a promotion in their order fulfillment department. She now runs the department and is truly happy and content where she is for the first time in a really long time.  

Lisa’s strength goes beyond the physical realm; emotionally, she has emerged as a beacon of hope and determination. With over 18 months of sobriety and the completion of an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Lisa’s commitment to self-improvement is unwavering. Thanks to the help of Jubilee Jobs, Lisa is concurrently working towards her bachelor’s degree, along with nearing the completion of writing two novels, she has proven no goal is too ambitious when fueled by resilience and perseverance. She’s improved her credit score significantly and is already underway with saving towards purchasing a vehicle in the very near future.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of Lisa’s story is the rekindling of her relationship with her son, Caleb. Through regular visits and shared experiences during holidays and church plays, their bond has flourished. Lisa reflects, “Our bond is getting stronger, and it couldn’t make me happier.”  With a newfound stability guided by her counselor, Lisa secured housing for herself, opening doors to a more promising future.

As Lisa gazes into the horizon, she envisions countless possibilities for herself and her son. The future holds the promise of continued growth, success, and most importantly, a flourishing mother-son relationship that exemplifies the transformative power of resilience and love.
